The 4E Ranch with its grand, wide-open spaces and gorgeous vistas is southwest of historic Glen Rose, TX. Glen Rose is often described as the top of the Texas Hill Country, and after viewing this magnificent ranch with its breath taking views and beautiful sunsets you will understand why.
The ranch sits at 1663 FM 51 in Somervell County. The quaint town of Glen Rose creates a welcoming atmosphere, from the exceptional schools and facilities to the local attractions including the expo center, wildlife and amusement parks, and amphitheater, to the historic downtown square. Fort Worth is an easy hour drive to the north from the ranch and downtown Dallas is 1½ hours away.
This recreational ranch has a combination of bottomland, woodland setting and rolling pastureland. Tree species on the ranch including live oak, red oak, blue juniper, mesquite, and several varieties of elms attract deer, dove and other wildlife.
4E Ranch has about 170 feet in elevation changes, ranging from the highest point about 1,200 feet above sea level on the western boundary and the lowest point about 1,030 eet above sea level in some of the draws.
From the high points on the western boundary of the ranch there are views that go on for miles. The terrains vary from rolling grassland, hilly countryside, and several areas of very heavy cover along the draws.
This recreational ranch is located over the Trinity Aquifer, one of the major aquifers in Texas. A spring-fed creek with several draws runs throughout the property; some of the runs hold water throughout the year. Four stock ponds of various sizes dot the property, and one water well provides water for the house.
With excellent sources of water and a wide variety of trees and other foliage, this ranch is ideal for seasonal hunting and year-round fishing for bass and perch in the stock ponds. In addition to dove, there are turkey and whitetail deer on the property.
Improvements: The main house, which was built in 1930 and updated and expanded in 1995, includes two bedrooms, 1.5 baths, a full-size eat-in kitchen, living area and screened porch. The barn includes a tack room, feed room and horse stalls. Working pens are located near the barn. The property is fenced and cross-fenced.
