It’s a beautiful day to have an art festival in Southlake, TX! The sky is blue with huge, puffed clouds and a sea of artists has pulled up with trailers, trucks, and dollies as they set up their booths.

Thanks to the incredible ladies from the Southlake Women’s Club, green-aproned volunteers are everywhere to coordinate parking, hand out maps, and lend a hand.

This year’s Art in the Square — the 15th  anniversary of this annual Southlake event — starts today at 4 p.m. and goes through Sunday this weekend. Hope to see you there!

When the gates open, you’ll find a full schedule of performances, starting with Dana’s Drill Team and including Event Horizon, Dana’s Dance Student, Dano and School of Rock.

IDT Band - bigOn the main stage at 8:30, catch Dallas-based IDT Band, playing infectious pop and rock. Their self-description: “IDT knows the difference between cool and lame. Comprised of five “kids” (all of average marrying age), they have a good idea of what appeals to their generation, and they have perfected a show that makes the guests WANT to stay, and unable to stop dancing. Every couple wants the same thing for their wedding reception, and it’s never for it be a litany of traditional events while guests stand around and clap politely. What they want is a party that they and everyone in attendance will remember as one of the greatest nights of their lives.”

The party ends at 10:30 Friday, but don’t worry – the Art in the Square fun starts up again at 10 a.m. Saturday.
