Each year, the Lakewood Home Festival welcomes 4,000 visitors and raises money for neighborhood schools. The Briggs Freeman Sotheby’s International Realty Home Tour takes place Nov. 15-16. This home at 6903 Merrillee Lane is on the tour.
The green and yellow signs are making their annual appearance all over Lakewood—calling neighbors and friends to celebrate spectacular homes. Each year, more than 4,000 people gather to admire distinct design and personality-rich décor at the Lakewood Home Festival.
This year the Briggs Freeman Sotheby’s International Realty Home Tour will feature six outstanding homes—including an inspired New England cottage design, a 1937 Charles Dilbeck classic, a stately Colonial Revival limestone home and others sure to tempt and inspire.
Tour stop: 6906 Wildgrove Avenue
The Festival, which runs from November 14-16, is hosted by the Lakewood Early Childhood PTA and raises funds for Lakewood Elementary School, J.L. Long Middle School and Woodrow Wilson High School. The funds directly benefit students through the purchase of school materials, computers and enrichment programs. Last year the home tour and festival raised more than $150,000, which provided new gym, music and art equipment; supplemental learning books and tools for each grade, as well as supplies that help teachers prepare lessons for learners of all ages.
Tour stop: 6820 Avalon Avenue
The tour, which also includes a Holiday Market & Café, is in its 38th year. After seeing beautiful homes, visitors can shop items from local artists and vendors at the Holiday Market and get a bite to eat at the food-truck café. This year’s Holiday Market offers a bounce house, cookie decorating and photos of the kids with Santa, who makes his appearance prior to taking up his regular post at the downtown Neiman Marcus department store.
