As seen in Papercity December 2015:
It’s a time of year when everything glitters brightly, shining a light on those most in need. It’s also the season when two Texas traditions, The Crystal Charity and Jewel Charity put on their holiday finery and toast the many supporters who fill the coffers of children’s charities across North Texas.

Since it first began in 1953, Jewel Charity has raised nearly $64 million to support North Texas families through the Cook Children’s Medical Center. The organization, which has been guided by the wisdom and influence of some of Fort Worth’s most established families, is lead this year by Debbie Reynolds.
“Many of us have no idea of the costs associated with having a baby in the NICU – upwards of $3,000 a day or more for care – and the strain it can put on those families in need,” Reynolds said. “We at Jewel Charity believe every child and grandchild deserves great health care, and each year we strive to raise funds that help families in the area get premier medical care, despite what they are able to pay.”
Jewel Charity has cared for kids for more than 60 years and provided nearly $64 million in support, touching the lives of thousands of children and their families. Briggs Freeman Sotheby’s International Realty is the macro sponsor of Jewel Charity’s Fund A Cause program benefiting Cook Children’s Medical Center.
