Expert Advice in Lakewood: Should I wait for home prices to rise before I list?

No need to wait for Spring Market. Don’t make bets that home prices will soar. The time to list is now in Lakewood and East Dallas.

Many buyers want to get a jump on Spring Market to beat out the increased competition and, conversely, sellers can avoid the more heated chase for buyers that occurs in April and May. The sooner you list, the better. Since home prices are healthy – we’re in one of the most stable and diverse home markets in the country – and our strong economy is drawing more residents to DFW every day, the buyers are out there.

Prices are projected to be stable in 2016. We have such a strong, diverse economy in DFW that we’re not going to see the home price decreases that some other cities will see this year – but we’re not going to see the huge jumps we saw a few years ago as the housing industry was recovering. So now is a great time to list a home – and to buy a home.

There is no guarantee that home prices are going to increase, with everything that’s going on in the world and with the volatility of the oil market. Your best bet is to get your home on the market now and expose it to people who are coming in from out of town to search for a place to live.
